The catch lever on the SafTLok is holding the magazine lock in position. Upon unlocking the lock, the magazine lock will dislodge from the gun. To compensate for improper operation caused by tampering, the magazine lock baseplate should be firmly tapped to make sure it is properly seated and engaged by the magazine release button before attempting to enter the combination.
